Happy National Washington Day to all the military families in Washington State. Washington is our nearest neighbor. Just a short drive across the bridge over the Columbia River. #nationalwashingtonday
Washingtonians are welcoming people. It’s such a beautiful state. Maybe that has something to do with it?
Lots of Navy families in Washington
Being a coastal state, it naturally has a significant US Navy and US Coast Guard presence. Perhaps that is why so many 2MyHero customers order USN and USCG cards to encourage their Sailors and Coasties!
I’ve been to many of the cities in Washington where my military family customers live. Poulsbo is one of my favorites. It’s such a cute little coastal town! The Scandinavian roots run deep. So do US Navy and USCG roots.
Poulsbo is also where I photographed the Navy officer dress uniform for the USN Retire the Uniform greeting card. Thanks again, Rhonda! Rhonda is the wife of a USN Chaplain. She is a friend of a friend. Although we’d never met before, she welcomed me into their home. She talked candidly about her life as a Navy wife. She gave me great insights. Insights that have influenced several 2MyHero card designs.
Cat’s Meow Antique Store in Poulsbo, WA sells a good selection of 2MyHero designs. I even once received a message from a customer who had purchased 2MyHero US Navy cards long ago on Amazon. When she saw the cards on display at Cat’s Meow in Poulsbo, she let me know she’d been there.
Imagine my delight to receive this message through the 2MyHero Facebook page:
I just wanted to let you know, I bought cards from you several years ago for my Sailor. I am in Poulsbo, WA right now, and it was so cool to see your cards being sold in the Cat’s Meow Antique store!
Air, sea, and undersea
A smaller selection of 2MyHero cards at The Naval Undersea Museum in Keyport, WA and Lewis Army Museum at JBLM (Joint Base Lewis McChord). Both are currently closed due to Covid. Hopefully, they can reopen soon!
Washington is also home to many retired military members. One retired Army Colonel is the proud owner of the uniform I photographed for the Army version of Retire the Uniform greeting card. I had a delightful time listening to the highlights of his time in service. I noticed that the receptionist at the assisted living home referred to him as Colonel Knoop. (Not, Mr. Knoop).
Army, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard families
Not all all our customers are Navy families. Washingtonians have ordered cards for all 5 branches of service.
To the 2MyHero customers in Oak Harbor, Marysville, Bonney Lake, Olympia, Lake Stevens, Kirkland, Seattle, JBLM, Bellevue, Clyde Hill, Colville, Spanaway, Kenmore, Tacoma, Normandy Park, Vancouver, Lynnwood, Kent, Sekiu, Renton, Pasco, Federal Way, Spokane Valley, Port Townsend, Longview, Maple Valley, Auburn, Richland, Graham, Poulsbo, Everett, Bellingham – THANK YOU!
Make it personal
Customers love having the option to add a personal message. 2MyHero offers 2 options on individual card orders.

In addition to sending a great card, personalization can be added to any individual card order. Choose to have your message handwritten inside the card or printed on a separate enclosure card.
