“No one loves you like your mum . . .” It’s true. Moms and dads see the potential in their children. From day one they hope and dream of great things for them. Destined puts an image and wording to the pride felt by parents and friends U.S. Coast guard enlisted and commissioned officers alike.
The eight week boot camp at Camp May holds big challenges for the recruits preparing to enter the Coast Guard. It is both physically and mentally draining, and a letter from home encouraging them to hang in there is what all recruits need!
As in all branches of service, boot camp = no cell phone. Letters from home are so important to helping recruits stay focused and strong.
If you haven’t looked closer at the week by week challenges there are several resources to check out: Go Coast Guard website is firsthand information; The Balance Careers website also outlines the weekly format, requirements at each level, and overall helpful information for surviving boot camp.
Suitable for graduation, early in their career, or as a ‘congratulations on your promotion’ occasion, Destined gives the people in the inner circle of the Coastie a way to express their admiration for their accomplishment.
Also in the USCG Collection of greeting cards for Coasties are two cards that bring humor to the table, poking a bit of fun. Humor can be very welcome during this intense training time. We’ll be highlighting those cards in a later blog.
2MyHero offers military, and military only, greeting cards that express admiration, gratitude and encouragement to US Coast Guard personnel. These are not your ordinary military greeting cards. Not only are they licensed with the USCG, USN, USMC, and USAF, but they also communicate in a way that is fresh and relevant.
2MyHero prides itself on creatively reaching beyond the typical imagery found on greeting cards for military. We want to express a depth of feeling and connection that will help bridge the gap between those of us who are civilians to the men and women we love who are or were at one time in military service.
Destined is a design that the receiver will want to keep and tuck in their stash for those lonely times when life in the Coast Guard is challenging. It fosters the kind of connection we hope every military greeting card we create will develop in both the giver and receiver of 2MyHero cards.
If you know a young man or woman heading off to boot camp at Cape May, you’ll want to purchase all of them (except Still a lady if your recruit is male) so you can encourage them at every stage – during bootcamp, at graduation, there’s one for their CC (Company Commander) and depending on how often you write them at boot camp, you may have one or two left over to send after graduation on their first assignment or next level of training.
Maybe you know a Coastie who is way beyond boot camp in terms of their military career. You are sure to find a card within the collection that is relevant at any phase of a Coastie’s career. 2MyHero is happy to help you cheer them on with unique and well researched military greeting cards.
Currently Destined is offered in both the USCG Collection and the USN Collection. It may come to the other branch lines in the future. If you have a US Marine or Airman in your life and you’d like to see Destined in those branches, drop us and email and let us know! We always welcome input from customers!
July 4, 2018 we will be releasing branch specific Birthday greeting cards for US Coast Guard as well as US Air Force, US Navy and US Marines. You’ll want to get some for your stash!
