Stuff your Military Someone’s Stocking With Gratitude This Christmas

by | Dec 9, 2019 | Uncategorized

I’m going to go out on a limb here, and guess that military greeting cards or more specifically military branch-specific Thank You notecards aren’t the first thing that pops into your head when looking for stocking stuffers for your Airman, Coastie, Marine, Sailor or Soldier. Am I right?

There are all kinds of things that you can put in someone’s stocking on Christmas Eve. Some of them are practical, some are just fun, some are edible, some are personal . . .

It seems like it’s always easy to find edible goodies to put in the Christmas stockings. Chocolate Santas, the big giant candy canes (who really eats those anyway? – if you do, comment below and let me know!), Toblerone. All are great ideas, but let’s face it, none of us needs or wants a ton of candy. We’re already eating too many cookies and sweets at all the holiday gatherings. OK, maybe one sweet treat, but what else?

Size can sometimes be a critical factor when buying stocking stuffers. Depending on how big your Christmas stockings are, you might not be able to buy really large items because they just won’t fit. I have this problem with my son’s Christmas stocking. I made him a cross-stitched stocking which is beautiful, but not very large. He was our first child, I was 29 . . . Let’s just say, he’s the only one with that intricate of a stocking 🙂 Sometimes it’s tricky finding gifts that he wants that will fit inside of it.

When you’re trying to find stocking stuffers for someone in the military it can be really challenging to find something that they will appreciate and find useful. Let’s face it, most military members are practical kinds of people. They want something that they can actually use, not just stick on a shelf. Especially if your military member is on deployment, space is even more critical. Maybe even more than your average Joe, GI Joe or Jane either wants something that packs a punch, or something they have a use for.

2MyHero can’t help you much in finding a stocking stuffer that “packs a punch”. For that kind of gift, I would recommend Ranger Joe’s. Ranger Joe’s is a kind of iconic storefront for the military. Their headquarters is near Fort Benning, Georgia.

Ranger Joe's military greeting cards and worlds finest combat gear

Although Fort Benning is an Army base Ranger Joe’s has inventory that will appeal to all branches of the military. 2MyHero military greeting cards aren’t sold on their website, but a selection of US Army specific graduation, encouragement, promotion and retirement military greeting cards are sold in the gift shop inside the National Infantry Museum.

I live in the Pacific Northwest, where there is some military presence, but nothing in comparison to Georgia. Even here though, I recently met a Soldier and in the course of our conversation Ranger Joe’s came up. He got very excited and nostalgic talking about Ranger Joe’s and what he remembered from his time while in BCT at Fort Benning. I feel very grateful and proud that 2MyHero military greeting cards are part of their great selection.

What 2MyHero can help you with are practical stocking stuffers that you can’t pick up at Target or any other big box store. There are several small gift shops that carry the branch-specific military Thank You notecards.

The notecard packs come in clear cello bags and include 8 notecards and 8 envelopes in each pack. They are A2 size, which is equivalent to a quarter of an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper. A great size for tucking inside a Christmas stocking. They even fit in my son’s Christmas stocking!

Pacific Northwest peeps who live on the Kitsap Peninsula, can pop into the US Naval Undersea Museum gift shop. They carry US Navy, US Coast Guard, and US Marines Thank you notecard packs. Stop and check out their exhibits if you haven’t already. And it’s FREE!

East Coast folks have a couple of options. If you’re near Quantico, you can stop in the Marine Corps Association gift shop. I’m shipping out a large order of Thank You notecards to them this afternoon. If you live near the Pentagon and have access inside, the Fort America gift shop carries all 5 branches and recently restocked.
